WHAT IT IS?

The association was set up in the middle 80’s in order to improve the quality and bet on the identity of Artzai Gazta.

There are currently 116 shepherd partners in Artzai Gazta spread throughout the provinces of Araba, Gipuzkoa, Navarre and Biscay.

ARTZAI GAZTA is a non-profit association of farmhouse cheese producers of the recognized Idiazabal Cheese. They produce 53% of the total Idiazabal cheese.  The association has relationships and contact with european producers thanks to 30 years of experience and scientific and technological knowledge. Likewise, they maintain a close relationship with their customers to bring them all the information related to craftsman meetings and local competitions.

From a local point of view, Artzai Gazta wants the support and strategic references from the rest of the world.
